The old guard is keeping the monarchy alive and well represented with the Prince of Wales, the Princess Royal and the Duke of York currently outperforming the younger royals by number of engagements carried out in 2019.
According to Royal Correspondent Patricia Treble, so far this year The Queen is the 4th busiest member of The Royal Family having performed over 150 engagements.
One would never know Her Majesty had celebrated her 93rd birthday in April given her 40 engagements in the month of June alone.
According to Treble, The Queen’s January-to-June workload is almost as much as that of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge combined.
But the winners are…
Currently in first place, Prince Charles has carried out more than 300 engagements.
His sister, Princess Anne, affectionately known as the ‘hardest working royal’, is not far behind having conducted over 250 engagements.
And the Duke of York, Prince Andrew, takes out the bronze.
Clearly they all take after their remarkable and much-beloved mother, Queen Elizabeth II, who, showing no sign of slackening her royal pace at the age of 93, is doubtless as much of an inspiration to her children as she is to the nation.
