So it came about that bookies suspended betting for the first time since baby York pregnancy rumours began over a year ago.
Betting intelligence site bookmakers.tv has claimed royal baby news could be announced at any moment.
A spokesperson for bookmakers.tv commented: “The odds of Eugenie and Jack sharing some good news soon have taken another plunge with the latest betting definitely suggests an announcement may be around the corner.”
“And as always, Royal watchers would love to see another royal baby, with some punters even suggesting the Queen may have three new grand-children during 2020, as odds plummet to 5/1.”
Quite convincingly, the odds before the market was suspended were as low as 8/13.
Pregnancy rumours have been rife since the princess married her beau, Jack Brooksbank, last October.
It’s now been 9 years since the two met skiing in Verbier in 2010 while the royal was studying at university.
