Australia’s 26th Governor-General, Sir Peter Cosgrove has recorded a special farewell video to mark the end of his term.
In the video, Sir Peter, who is accompanied by his wife Lyne, reflects on the moments and memories that made his five year term special.
“Australia will always be a work in progress. Never perfect. But with a cohesion, and energy, and optimism, and a future, that is the envy of so many other nations.”
Lady Lyne spoke of how she and Sir Peter would be “forever thankful” for the opportunity to meet so many Australians during Sir Peter’s term as Governor-General.
