A member of Princess Beatrice’s family has reportedly let the cat out of the bag.
The unnamed relative has suggested the princess will marry her Italian entrepreneur beau, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, before next summer’s end.
In English terms, that’s August 2020.
It’s been a whirlwind romance since the two met mid-September last year, introduced by mutual friends.
“They hit it off instantly and have a real laugh together… Things are moving very quickly and it wouldn’t surprise anyone if they got engaged within a short period of time. They could even be tying the knot in 2019 — it’s already been discussed by her friends,” shared a friend.
Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams said the relationship between the English princess and the Italian businessman was “extremely close” despite them having been together for a relatively short period of time.
Regarding the possibility of their getting engaged shortly, he remarked: “It may or may not be, the York’s do nothing by halves so St George’s Chapel Windsor will probably be used if they do marry.”
Ninth-in-line to the throne, Princess Beatrice doesn’t need the Queen’s approval to marry however given their close relationship she’s likely to seek Her Majesty’s blessing all the same.
After all, one can’t name a wedding date without first consulting the monarch’s diary to find a suitable gap.
